PSYCHOLOGICAL READINESS TO RISK IN PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY IN CADETS OF THE FEDERAL PENITENTIARY SERVICE

Abstract (English):
Introduction. The research provides the findings of the study of the degree of cadets’ readiness to take risks in professional activities during the period of training in an educational institution of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. The aim of the research is the analysis of psychological readiness to risk in cadets during their training in educational institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. Methods. The research involved the following methods and techniques: 1) conversation in order to obtain socio-demographic characteristics of cadets’ personality; 2) 16-factor personality questionnaire of R. B. Cattell. The data were processed in Microsoft Office Excel-2019 software. Reliability of differences was determined by the t and j (for % of relations) – Student’s t-test, correlation by Spearman (r). Results. The results of the study of communicative, intellectual, emotional, regulatory properties of cadets according to R.B Cattell’s methodology revealed the dominance of age features of adolescence (18–20 years old) and the deficit of psychological readiness to risk in professional activity in their behaviour. It was established that the period of training in an educational institution of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia is extremely important, as cadets form an idea of both subjective and personal characteristics that are required in professional activities of employees of the penal correctional system.
