Introduction. Value orientations act as a component of the semantic sphere of personality and form the basis of such key processes as socialisation, selfdetermination and professional identity. The practical and theoretical significance of the work consists in considering the value sphere of cadets as a component of adaptation to professional activity. Materials and methods. The total sample size was 122 cadets studying at the Moscow University of the MIA of Russia named after V. Ya. Kikot. The diagnostic complex included: a questionnaire consisting of a selection of 24 values: 12 social and 12 antisocial values (Bulygina V. G. and others, 2022). To analyse the situation the following blocks are used: 1) 10 basic values that the research participants adhere to; 2) significant values: choosing three out of 10 basic values that the research participant will not give up under any circumstances, even in extreme circumstances; 3) negative values: choosing three values that the research participant can give up. A semantic analysis of 10 verbal value stimuli and 10 visual value stimuli corresponding to the basic ones was carried out to identify their proximity to the true self by calculating the Euclidean distance. Results. The value orientations of the cadets of the second and third categories of professional psychological fitness are highlighted, the risk groups of deformation of the value sphere of the cadets whithin the range from low to moderate are identified. The group of cadets belonging to the second category is dominated by such values (and not only by them!) as “creative work”, “traditional family”, “respect for ancestors”, but also “absolute freedom”, “to go one’s own way”. The cadets from the group of the third category of professional psychological fitness revealed the values of “personal goals”, “life”, “idleness”, “unity of peoples”.
