Designing an integration educational event in a law enforcement university based on the humanitarian and anthropological approach

Abstract:
Introduction. The strategic course towards preserving a common educational space for the Commonwealth of Independent States and other friendly countries poses the challenge of effective educational work with foreign students in law enforcement higher education institutions. In this regard, the problem of organising educational work with foreign students in institutions of the Russian Ministry of the Interior becomes particularly relevant. The analysis of the educational programme at University of the MIA of Russia revealed a discrepancy between the declared humanistic principles and the limited use of interactive teaching methods. The aim of the reasearch is to develop a design matrix for an educational event that implements the principles of the humanistic-anthropological approach. Methods. The research employs the analysis and synthesis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical modeling, participant observation, and reflexive analysis. Results. The research integrates andragogy and the event-based approach through the principles of dialogue of cultures. This synthesis is implemented through a new teacher position – that of an equal partner and “co-worker” within a co-existential student community. A design matrix for the three-day festival “We are Different, but We are Together” was developed. The pilot study involved 79 students from 21 countries. The participants overcame formal distance and developed a new group identity: their symbolic countries were named “Druzhbostan” (Friendship-stan), and their capitals “Sem’ya” (Family). They also internalised the values of co-existence through the “Friendship Passport”. Conclusions. The transition from technocratic logic to the design of pedagogical events is possible based on a synthesis of andragogy, the co-existential approach, dialogue of cultures, and non-formal education. Crucial to the implementation of the approach is the teacher’s position as a “co-worker”, capable of creating and sustaining a space for genuine encounter and reflection.
