On the main results of the work to modernize the pre-diploma on-the-job practice, using the example of future district police officers

Abstract (English):
Introduction. Carrying out on-the-job (pre-diploma) practice in the territorial divisions of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs enables graduates of educational institutions to fully prepare for their future professional activities. A survey of graduates and on-the-job practice supervisors from territorial divisions made it possible to identify the areas of professional activity that caused the most difficulty for trainees. The study of the nature and causes of the problems encountered by trainees – future district police officers – during their on-the-job practice revealed the need to modernise the organisation and realisation of such practice. The experimental study to identify and create the necessary organisational and pedagogical conditions for practical training and improving its quality, conducted in 2022–2025, confirmed the hypothesis and showed positive results in solving the tasks set. Methods. The methodological basis of the study consisted of: a system-activity approach to identify the structural elements of on-the-job practice and ways to modernise them; an integrative-modular approach aimed at identifying the content of tasks and functions assigned to district police officers that is common to all training subjects; a competencybased approach that defines the conditions for interaction between all subjects of the organisation and carrying out on-the-job practice based on professional requirements. The Mann-Whitney nonparametric test (Mann-Whitney U test) was used to conduct a statistical analysis of the effectiveness of the experimental work. Results. Statistically significant positive dynamics was identified for all the criteria for assessing practical training included in the program of on-the-job (pre-diploma) practice for the experimental group. Organisational and pedagogical conditions for the improvement and modernization of on-the-job (pre-diploma) practice were identified.
