Using the possibilities of service-applied sports in the methodology of professional training of police officers (based on the example of the discipline «Triathlon»)

Abstract (English):
Introduction. The article substantiates the need to improve the quality of professional training of police officers in connection with a significant aggravation of the geopolitical situation. Ensuring the readiness of police officers to act in special conditions in order to protect national security requires constant improvement of professional training methods, including those oriented towards the modern practice of internal affairs agencies. The authors of the article focus on the tactical-special, fire and physical training of police officers. The high efficiency of using the competitive method, or otherwise - the competitive form of training, within the framework of the training methodology implemented for these types of training is emphasized. The significant methodological potential of service-applied sports is noted, in particular the discipline "Triathlon" (shooting from combat weapons, demonstration of combat wrestling techniques, 1000-meter run). Methods. The following methods were used in the study, the results of which are presented in the article: general scientific (deduction, analysis, synthesis, generalization), empirical (observation, comparison, conversation), general pedagogical (study and generalization of pedagogical experience, pedagogical experiment). Various aspects of preparation for competitions in service triathlon and participation in them were studied, the pedagogical experience accumulated by the Department of Tactical-Special, Fire and Physical Training of the Kaliningrad branch of the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia was analyzed. Results. The authors developed recommendations for improving the professional training of police officers, taking into account the need to eliminate the shortcomings identified in the system of its implementation. The advantages that participation in competitions in service triathlon gives to police officers are listed. A conclusion is made about the need for interaction between educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia with territorial divisions of the internal affairs bodies for the purpose of further development of service-applied sports and the active introduction of competitive forms in the methodology of professional training of police officers.
