Introduction. The digitalisation of production processes and the expanding application of network-centric approaches necessitate a comprehensive risk assessment framework to accompany this transformation, particularly in the realms of economic and energy security of production systems. In this study, energy security is framed as a measurable parameter of the broader economic security framework for production systems, thus facilitating a systematic assessment of organisational resilience. Methods. The core of this research lies in the development of an original model for transitioning to networkcentric resource management in production systems. The proposed model architecture derives from a comprehensive review and subsequent synthesis of the scholarly literature, encompassing network-centric system theory, maturity models, and interoperability principles. The methodological framework is underpinned by a risk-oriented approach, implemented via a three-tier risk evaluation matrix. Each transition stage is systematically examined for potential threats, followed by the formulation of corresponding mitigation measures. Results. This paper critically examines commonly used maturity models, revealing that none adequately addresses the risks inherent in the transformation process. This gap became the key driver for developing a proprietary model that clearly delineates the maturity stages common to any production system. For each stage, the key risks to economic and energy security are identified. The consolidated risk matrix reveals a non‑uniform threat distribution, with risk concentration being highest during the initial and transitional stages and decreasing progressively as maturity increases. The study provides a comprehensive analysis of the transition to network-centric management, examined across conceptual, analytical, and applied dimensions. The study provides practical recommendations for managing the security of production systems.
