Introduction. Crimes against the person pose a serious threat to the security of citizens and the stability of society and the state. Despite the general downward trend in crime in the Russian Federation, an analysis of the dynamics and structure of crimes against the person reveals contradictory trends: while some types of crimes against the person are declining, others, conversely, are showing an increase. This indicates unresolved issues in the area of personal security and requires a detailed analysis to identify their causes. The relevance of this study is determined by the need for a comprehensive analysis of the dynamics and structure of crimes against individuals in the Russian Federation in order to develop scientifically sound recommendations for improving measures to prevent and combat crimes against the person. Research methods. The study used statistical analysis, comparative legal analysis, and analysis of scientific publications and official data from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the period from 2018 to 2023. Conclusion. The study confirmed a general downward trend in registered crimes against the person in Russia from 2018 to 2023, consistent with global trends. It also confirmed a steady decline in crimes against life and health, as well as an upward trend in crimes against sexual integrity and sexual freedom, as well as certain types of crimes against the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens. The authors conclude that the current situation requires intensified preventive efforts by law enforcement agencies aimed at preventing attacks against the interests of families and minors, as well as against freedom, honor, and dignity of the person, sexual integrity, and sexual freedom.
