Introduction. Since the end of the last century, numerous studies, both general theoretical and applied in nature, have been devoted to the issues of identifying and overcoming countering investigation. Despite some terminological differences, there is a clear consensus in the criminalistics community on the nature of this phenomenon, as well as a general recognition of the importance of developing measures for its prevention, detection and overcoming. The effectiveness of law enforcement agencies activities in this regard is determined by the availability of criminal investigation support that meets the real needs of practice. At present, with the transition of society to the widespread digitalisation of activities, such an element of criminal investigation support as information support is becoming particularly important in this regard. Its content is changing dynamically under the influence of scientific and technological progress and the introduction of its achievements into the activities of society and the state. Information support for the detection and overcoming countering the investigation of crimes against families and minors is characterised by a number of specific features, knowledge and consideration of which have a direct impact on the effectiveness of this activity. Methods. The methodological basis of the study is represented by a combination of general, general scientific and specific scientific methods, the priority among which are dialectical methods for identifying deep contradictions and patterns in the phenomenon under study, formal-logical, historical, and systemic-structural analysis to study the internal organisation of the object of research, and comparative analysis to compare its key characteristics, as well as by a number of other methods. Results. The article draws attention to the importance of identifying and overcoming countering the investigation of crimes against families and minors. It is noted that in the context of total digitalisation, information support for this activity is of particular importance. The direct dependence between the volume and nature of information on countering investigation possessed by the investigating entity, as well as the speed of obtaining information and the effectiveness of overcoming countermeasures, is emphasised. The main areas of information support and the problems arising in their implementation are characterised, and ways to solve them are proposed. The prospects for expanding the capabilities of law enforcement agencies in this area are considered
