Introduction. Intellectual property acts as one of the most valuable and specific forms of information. The exclusive right, the totality of other intellectual rights to the results of intellectual activity, as well as other specific characteristics (immateriality; inexhaustibility; self-reproduction, etc.) predetermine the fundamental importance of intellectual property for innovative developing and ensuring the technological sovereignty of the state as factors of economic security. Methods. The research methodological basis was provided by particular methods of logical cognition (deduction, induction, method of analogy), method of analysis of statistical information, method of comparative jurisprudence. Results. The turnover and protection of intellectual property are proved to be a factor in ensuring economic security. The threats and directions of ensuring economic security in this sphere are determined.
