The article describes the algorithms for organizing self-training of cadets of educational organizations of the Ministry of Interior of Russia for classes in the academic discipline «Criminal Law». Cadets study topics during lectures, seminars, practical classes, and also pass knowledge testing. The authors have developed methodological recommendations for organizing independent (extracurricular) work, which will allow cadets to deeply, fully assimilate the educational material and develop self-education skills, consolidate theoretical knowledge and acquire the necessary practical skills in the discipline «Criminal Law». Optimization of independent training of cadets of universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for classes allows them to be interested in finding solutions to complex issues in the field of criminal law, to activate their scientific and practical abilities necessary for the professional activities of an investigator.
